Well, as some of you might know, over the next couple of weeks, Maxim Hosting is going to be making some large changes to its network and system infrastructure in order to upgrade to a more fault tolerant and faster network for our clients.
The first phase is our new distributed DNS system, which enables us to have DNS servers in 4 geographically different locations. We now have a DNS server in Germany, Singapore, Pennsylvania, US, and California, US. Dont worry, our main servers will still reside here in the midwest.
All you need to do to migrate to these new IP’s is to update them at your registrar, then immediately submit a ticket to support@maximhosting.com and we will update your DNS A records to reflect the new IP’s. Resellers that have DNS access within WHM can make these updates themselves as well.
ns1 89.149.240.14
ns2 66.197.176.196
ns3 64.62.141.172
ns4 203.124.102.165
We would like everyone moved to the new IP’s no later than October 4th, so that we can start on the second phase, which is migration to our new server cluster, which enables us to have full redudnancy for all hardware. This means that if a server fails due to hardware failure, we can immediately get your server back up in minutes on a new node.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact one of our staff members and we will glad to help in any way that we can.
